The Guadalupe River Treetop Net
Seguin, Texas
Adventures Above the Guadalupe
Perched high in a 250-year-old live oak named Parisa, this treenet in Seguin, Texas, is a woven work of art. Built right on the Guadalupe River, the family had always dreamed of a treehouse, but the branches weren't right for it. They also wanted to feel connected to nature, not separated by walls and a roof. When they heard about treenets, it just clicked for them.
They first looked at pre-made nets but quickly saw they were saggy and uncomfortable. That’s when they decided to call us. We came out and wove their treenet on site to get the perfect tight, bouncy, and comfortable tension. We even brought our Sprinter van, which helps keep travel costs down, and camped out on the river for over a month. Getting to know the family was an absolute blast. We spent so many nights talking together 15 feet up in that tree, listening to the frogs and cicadas under the most perfect springtime weather. Honestly, we’re passionate about this work, but the connections we make with families are even more important.
